Story / Mission
Shop & Carry Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy located in the Logan/Fern Rock neighborhood of upper North Philadelphia. It was founded in 2015 by Dr. John Raju and Dr. Jittu George with the mission to serve the underprivileged and under-served in the community.
Our goal is to help maximize the benefits pharmacists can provide by maximizing meaningful patient engagement. These personal interactions allow pharmacists to help patients adhere to their medications. Improved adherence leads to improved outcomes, which lead to healthier patients.
Shop & Carry Pharmacy provides state-of-the-art, point-of-care pharmacy services to some of the largest facilities, including Pathways to Housing PA. Over the last several years, we have played a crucial role in reducing opioid abuse and related complications — especially through compliance packaging, implementation of Narcan programs, and facilitation of Suboxone and other Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) options.
As an independent pharmacy, we’re able to build personal relationships with our patients and spend more time making sure they understand their medications and treatment plans — something a chain pharmacy counter usually can’t offer.
